What Is Aromatherapy? Since Biblical times essential oils have been thought to help promote well being in the body, mind and Spirit. Bible scriptures tell us about highly regarded oil fragrances such as Frankincense and Myrrh, and how they were considered as choice gifts to the Messiah at birth, and then again as a possible anesthesia (myrrh) during his last moments on the cross, which He refused. Today our culture is reawakening to the therapeutic value found in the magnificence and mystery of God’s natural garden on Earth. The concentrated pure plant extracts esteemed for their perfume and therapeutic value are called essential oils. The application of these oils is known as aromatherapy. Similarly like foods that have special properties which can nourish us, essential oils have characteristics that range from antiseptics to relaxing. Aromatherapy is a healing art that has its roots in the Holy Land of our Bible, and there are few healing arts as enjoyable as luxuriating in the pure plant essences known as essential oils. Purchasing Therapeutic Grade Oils In order to experience healing oils, one must be certain that the oils are high-grade therapeutic grade oils grown organically, distilled properly, and bottled undiluted, unadulterated, and unchanged from their natural state. Most essential oils available are food or fragrance grade oils which are not necessarily organically grown, are often extracted with chemical solvents, may contain synthetic components, and /or have been denatured, refined or diluted. Such oils are not therapeutic. We recommend Young Living Essential Oils Inc., (YLEO) as being a reliable source of high quality therapeutically active oils.
